We have had many Christmas times in our lives, however we seem to enjoy the time of the season right her in the Blue Ridge Mountains the best. Don't get us wrong, being with family and friends is what Christmas is all about but we mean the seasonal atmosphere in this area. The snows that fall and decorate the mountainsides are so beautiful and just seeing the many happy people with fresh cut Christmas trees strapped to the top of there vehicles that they just cut from one of our very own local tree farms is great. The pace here is always slower than the cities and we can attest to that being from a large area and the visits home. We think the meaning of the aseason seems to be more authentic here as few are overburdened with the rat race and are just concerned with taking care of immediate needs. The older homes here get decorated in a more traditional style than all the glitz and glamor you see elsewhere. We do enjoy visiting some of the more elaborate Christmas decorations however it is always just a little tacky.
We hope that everyone has a wonderful Christmas holiday season and a prosperous new year. Spend some real honest time with friends and family this year and not worrying so much as to what to buy everybody on your list but what those on your list really mean to to you.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!! From Patrick and Crystal.
