Dutchies View Blue Ridge Mountains Bed and Breakfast is proud to again have had a nesting pair of Bluebirds have not one, two, or three fledges, but like last year four sets. As described to us by our monitor we are the most successful box on her entire Blue Bird trail. We are always excited to have the Blue Birds nesting and they are quite a treat to watch going about their daily routines. We hope next year we will attract even more nesting pairs but they are very territorial.
This year has been a good year for birding as we have seen five different species of Warbler, and of course the usual suspects of wren, finches, chickadee's and many others. We can not keep the hummingbird feeders full due to the numbers. Summer is winding down and the weather is cooling so I suspect birds will be exiting soon to come again next year and start all over.
