The weekend of the 9th of October brings two big events. First is the local Oktoberfest in our little town of Woolwine. The volunteer fire department has put on this event for over 10 years now as a fundraiser. On the Wednesday before all the townfolks meet to peel, cut up, and cook up over 100 bushels of apples into the best applebutter around. They sell it by the quart, and almost always sell out. There will be music, dancing and crafts as well as a homecooked meal available. Get by and help support the volunteer fire department.
The other event is the last concert series at Chateau Morrisette Winery. This is the famous Beach music festival and it will be a fun time with lots of music, food and of course all of the winery's award winning wines available. The winery will also be open everyday for lunch as well as dinners on Friday and Saturday.
There's always lots to do in or neck of the woods and October brings out all the fun along with the grand changing of the leaves.
